Body of water. Or,
leaving your clothes on one side of the bridge means walking naked.
Participatory performance
Isoisänsilta, Helsinki
August 2018
Each participant receives the recorded poem and is instructed to listen to it on their way to the the performance site. Upon arrival, the performer -naked - is waiting at one end of the bridge and gives the following instructions to each participant separately in a quiet voice:
"You are welcome to take off as much of your clothing as you feel comfortable with.
This bridge is 144 m long, 240 steps.
- Could you open your arms for me?
Your arm’s length is your height
(Touching part of their arm's length) This is water and the rest is your hands
- Close your eyes for me / Can you open your mouth? (Puts a pinenut in the participant's mouth)
Keep this in your mouth for as long as you choose to walk. Do not chew on it until you stop walking.
You may go as far as you want on the bridge.
Don’t look back until you stop walking."
